Wedding
My first wedding as a photographer. Nervous? A little :)
But actually just a little. I had taken on the task as a second shooter. The bride and groom had arranged for an experienced wedding photographer for 45min of portrait photography after the ceremony, the rest was up to me.
At least it felt a little easier.
But even though I had looked through checklists and everything else possible "good to know" before the wedding ..... damn, time passes fast and I forgot half, at least.
So much to think of, light there, light here, something happening there, something happening here, a toast, children playing, the family, the kiss, the bouquet, now this, now that... ... ... ...as if the camera settings were not enough :D
On top of all that, the camera messed with the focus. Did someone say "always carry two cameras at a wedding"?
Anyway, I loved it !
But I must admit that wedding photography is not a calm casual job.
And if you want to be good, it probably takes many, many weddings.
But, you have to start somewhere, right.
I made lots of mistakes, missed some on the list ... ... but by the end of the day I had learned so much. The demands and expectations were entirely on myself, the bride and groom were just grateful that I wanted to show up.
So was this my first and last wedding as a photographer? Not if you ask me :)
I am more than happy to take on more assignments as a photographer, or second shooter.
